Frequently Asked Questions
Simply put, therapy involves a confidential collaboration between you and the therapist to address mental health issues, tackle challenges that affect your wellbeing, learn effective coping strategies, and enhance self-awareness and self-compassion.
Therapy can be beneficial for individuals experiencing a range of concerns, from stress and anxiety to relationship issues and life transitions. If you're struggling to cope with emotions or find it difficult to navigate certain situations on your own, therapy may be worth considering.
In counselling or therapy, advice isn't given unless it's an emergency/crisis. Unlike well-meaning friends, therapists guide, ask questions, and assess options differently. Therapists focus on understanding how clients perceive their situation and what has affected them. Therapists help clients make sense of their situations and collaboratively work through presenting concerns to reach the goal/s set for and during therapy.

We utilise trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches tailored to each individual's needs and goals. Therefore, our approach to therapy is eclectic and sometimes integrative. Person-centered therapy is the cornerstone of our work with older adolescent and adult clients.
We are trained and specialised in therapeutic modalities that include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Art Therapy, and Play Therapy, among others. We largely use the Temperament Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and technique from the Gottman Method for couples and family therapy.
Therapy can address a wide range of issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship conflicts, trauma, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. Click here to know more.
Therapy is a well-paced out process. The total number of sessions you might need varies based on your concerns, the goals you’ve set with your therapist, and the therapeutic approach adopted.
It's perfectly normal to feel nervous or hesitant about starting therapy. It's a brave step, and we recognise the courage it takes to reach out for help. We are here to provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore your concerns and work towards your goals.
You will know therapy is working for you when you begin to experience positive changes in your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, or relationships. Your therapist will also periodically assess progress with you and adjust treatment as needed.
We do not provide chat-based therapy. Our therapists are unable to provide crisis counseling or offer support outside of scheduled appointments. This policy ensures professional boundaries and prevents the development of dependency.
Absolutely. What happens in therapy stays in therapy. However, there are exceptions, such as if you are a danger to yourself or others, or if there is a suspected case of child abuse or neglect. Your therapist will discuss these exceptions in detail during the first session.
During your first therapy session, you can expect to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your personal history, and your goals for therapy. Your therapist will likely ask questions to better understand your concerns and begin to develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Our working days are from Tuesday to Saturday. Please check our calendar for appointment availability.
