Our Story

How It Started

Everybody looks up to someone, and for me, that someone is my father. As a family therapist, his unwavering dedication and boundless compassion have profoundly influenced my professional journey. Growing up, I was in awe as I witnessed his incredible impact on the lives of his clients and the communities he served. Watching him work, I felt a deep calling to follow in his footsteps, while creating my own place in the world.

For the past ten years, I have immersed myself in the world of school-based counselling, engaging deeply with children and their families. These experiences have been enriching, as I’ve witnessed the transformative power of therapy firsthand. However, these moments also illuminated a greater calling within me— to reach out to more individuals and make a broader, more profound impact, not confined by location or school timetables.

My personal struggles have also played a significant role in shaping my path. Battling anxiety and rebuilding my self-esteem after a significant life transition was incredibly challenging. I remember feeling lost and overwhelmed, unsure of how to move forward. By the grace of God, the support of my family, and through effective therapy, I found my way back, gaining a unique perspective, and growing through what I was going through. These experiences have not only made me stronger but also fueled my passion to help people like myself recover and thrive.

I AM A THERAPIST. BUT, FIRST, I AM HUMAN.

How It’s Going

Driven by a relentless love for learning and an unyielding commitment to making a difference, years of education and hands-on experience make Sit With It, what it is - a transformative space. My approach is rooted in evidence-based modalities, allowing me to work effectively with children, teens, individuals, and families.

Through Sit With It, I have tried to create a sanctuary—a safe and empathetic space where you can confront your deepest challenges and begin your journey of healing. Having walked the talk, I am especially dedicated to helping women and children navigate their own valley experiences so they can heal and thrive.

AT SIT WITH IT, BOTH VULNERABILITY AND VALIANCE ARE HONOURED ALIKE.

Why Sit With It?

Because healing begins with feeling.

Instead of burying it in chores, drowning it in a drink, stashing it away so you never have to remember the pain, stuffing it away in shopping bags, camouflaging it with makeup, concealing it in air-tight containers that go in the fridge, slumbering it away, wolfing it down, and then throwing it up to feel better about your body, locking it up in your heart, or fleeing away from it, sit with it! Sounds hard, right?

Want to hear the easy part? We are here to sit with you through it! And if you’re worried that’s going to be too much for your therapist to take on, let me assure you:

I can sit with your fragility because I have sat with mine.

I can sit with your shadows because I have sat with mine.

I can sit with your anxieties and sorrows because I have sat with mine.

I can sit with your heartache and crushed spirit because I have sat with mine.

I can sit with your trauma and scars because I have sat with mine.

WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER. AND THERE IS HOPE!

My Hopes and Dreams for Sit With It

Through Sit With It, my mission is to empower you to find yourself and help you create a life that is not just fulfilling, but deeply meaningful, as you overcome obstacles and embrace personal growth. I firmly believe that everyone has the capacity for change, and it is my greatest honour to walk alongside you on this transformative journey.

And in the grander scheme of things, my endeavour at Sit With It is to encourage more people to invest in their mental health, to help people see that therapy is as much for the whole as it is for those who might feel they are not there yet, and to create a community that learns and grows together, uplifting each other along the way.

LET'S MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE!
